about

lyrics

at long last my trembling feet tread the oily cobblestones
the monstrous structures of the famed city tower before me
a deafening blast drowns out the faint manic shrieks
as the heavy iron gates are shut ajar
i dare to be the conqueror of the secrets held within
all i ever hoped for and more the mind may not comprehend
the moon descends my contract is made
distant realms pass by and i am lost in the thrill of the hunt
remains of sanity disperse in the purge
i die a thousand deaths to be awoken all the same
restless i’m thrown back into a circle
a strange inheritance now a part of me
with a newfound confidence i plunge into the pitch black alleyways
my fingers trace the hilt my grip is firm
in a burst my walking cane lets loose a hundred otherworldly thorns
jagged serrated steel rips into the disfigured beastly flesh
they howl obscenely as i am drenched in their sickly blood
fueled by the crimson power i venture further into the deep
i unearth the forbidden knowledge
the tragedy of the ancient masters and their fruitless efforts
their quest for ascendence the bane of this land
the moon hangs low all my eyes are pried open
the nightmare is revealed and i am lost in the pursuit of eternity
remains of humanity blur into oblivion
i'm dead a thousand times yet i live infinitely
